The phone features a 6.5-inch PLS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals and improved responsiveness compared to standard 60Hz displays. However, the screen resolution is 720 x 1600 pixels, which may not offer the same level of sharpness as higher-resolution displays.
The Galaxy M12 is powered by the Exynos 850 chipset, which includes an octa-core CPU consisting of four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz each. The device also comes with the Mali-G52 GPU, providing adequate graphics performance for casual gaming and multimedia tasks.
Depending on the variant, the Galaxy M12 offers different RAM and storage configurations, ranging from 3GB or 4GB of RAM with 32GB or 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. Users can expand the storage further using a microSDXC card in the dedicated slot.
In terms of cameras, the Galaxy M12 boasts a quad-camera setup on the back. It includes a 48 MP wide lens with an f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), and a 1/2.0" sensor for detailed shots. There's also a 5 MP ultrawide lens, and two 2 MP lenses for macro shots and depth information. The rear cameras support 1080p@30fps video recording and come with LED flash, panorama, and HDR features. On the front, there's an 8 MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and support for 1080p@30fps video recording.
Powering the Galaxy M12 is a non-removable 5000 mAh Li-Po battery, which should provide excellent battery life for extended daily usage. The device supports 15W wired fast charging for quicker recharging.
