The Cubot KingKong 5 is an available rugged smartphone from Cubot that was released in 2022. It is designed to withstand tough conditions with its IP68/IP69K dust and water resistance, as well as drop-to-concrete resistance from up to 1.5 meters.
Running on the Android 11 operating system, the Cubot KingKong 5 features a 6.01-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels. While the resolution is not the highest, the screen still delivers clear visuals and is suitable for outdoor use.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6762 Helio P22 chipset, which includes an octa-core processor consisting of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz. The PowerVR GE8320 GPU handles the graphics processing, providing smooth performance for everyday tasks.
The Cubot KingKong 5 comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, offering sufficient space for storing apps, photos, and other files. It also supports microSDXC cards in the shared SIM slot, allowing for expanded storage if needed.
In terms of photography, the smartphone boasts a triple camera setup on the rear. It features a 48 MP wide lens with autofocus, a 5 MP macro lens for close-up shots, and a 0.3 MP sensor. The camera setup is accompanied by an LED flash for capturing photos in low-light conditions. On the front, there is an 8 MP selfie camera for taking selfies and making video calls.
Powering the device is a non-removable 5000 mAh Li-Ion battery, which should provide ample power for extended usage. The large capacity battery ensures that the phone can last throughout the day without needing frequent recharging.
